This beautiful reproduction is of a modern interpretation of the classic Red Fuji woodblock print by Hokusai, one of the most famous artists in Japanese history. Higashimura, a manga artist who is known for her works such as Princess Jellyfish, Tokyo Tarareba Girls, and Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey, created the original scroll as a tribute to Hokusai's masterpiece, but also as a showcase of her own creativity and skill. She uses bright colors and bold strokes to create a dynamic and vibrant image of Mount Fuji, adding some details that are not present in Hokusai's print, such as the clouds, the trees, and the birds. Her scroll is a fusion of manga and ukiyo-e styles, showing her unique artistic vision.
Red Fuji is a rare and lucky phenomenon of Mount Fuji glowing red in the early autumn morning, when the wind is southerly and the sky is clear. It is believed to bring strong fortune and success to those who see it. This hanging scroll is a wonderful way to express your wishes for wealth, happiness, prosperity, and longevity. It will add charm and grace to any room.
