Keizan Ito is a Japanese painter who was born in 1873 and died in 1945. He studied under Kiyoteru Kuroda, one of the pioneers of Western-style painting in Japan. He was also influenced by the impressionist and post-impressionist movements in Europe. He specialized in landscape paintings, especially of Mount Fuji and other natural sceneries. He was known for his use of bright colors and bold strokes, creating vivid and dynamic images. He was also a member of the Japan Art Institute, a prestigious organization of Japanese painters¹.
The size of the scroll is 54.5cm wide and 190cm long (1.5 shaku). The painting is mounted on new silk fabric. The scroll ends are made of pottery.
