Featured in 2019 on NHK TV’s Good Morning Japan as a useful new Japanese invention! Heat stroke is a leading cause of hospitalization and even death, with the elderly being less sensitive to noticing changes in temperature. This pillow cushion provides a visual cue of when the temperature gets high. The color patterns start changing from dark pink to a lighter shade beginning around 27 ℃, and finally change to a completely different shade of light pink when the ambient temperature reaches 32 ℃. So the room temperature can be monitored just by placing the cushion in a visible area, and when it’s too hot, to take heat stroke measures like drinking more water or turning on the air-conditioner.
