From Yamashiro, one of Kyoto’s leading suppliers of premium Uji-style teas, this gyokuro tea is grown and hand-picked by Mr. Dejima, a tea farmer in Iioka, Kyotanabe City, Kyoto Prefecture. It features a calm, mellow sweetness and mellow umami taste unique to this single-source tea plantation. Gyokuro is the highest grade of Japanese green tea, grown on special tea plantations and traditionally shaded with straw mats for the last 3-4 weeks before picking. This tea is best enjoyed in small sips, to allow the rich aroma, and gentle, subtle flavors to fill your palate.
