From Yamashiro, one of Kyoto’s leading suppliers of premium Uji-style teas, this “Uji Hikari” variety gyokuro tea is grown by Seiichi Yamaoka, a tea farmer in the south of Ujitawara Town, Tsuzuki District, Kyoto Prefecture. It features a light taste, rich sweetness, and a mellow aroma combined with the finest umami. Packaged into convenient triangular tea bags for portion control, and ease of preparation.

Gyokuro is the highest grade of Japanese green tea, grown on special tea plantations and traditionally shaded with straw mats for the last 3-4 weeks before picking. This tea is best enjoyed in small sips, to allow the rich aroma, and gentle, subtle flavors to fill your palate.
