This wallet was made in collaboration with a local kimono accessories maker in Kamakura, Japan, and takes its inspiration from Buddhist iconography and traditional Japanese crafts. Each element of the wallet has its own symbolism, with the red color representing Buddha’s blood, which brings harmony and fellowship, and a wooden charm of Daruma Daishi (semi-mythical founder of Zen and Zazen meditation). Despite or because of its purpose of holding money, this wallet is a symbol of our aim to transcend selfish possession and approach enlightenment.
