This beautiful mandala represents the world of the Lotus Sutra. Shaka Nyorai and Prabhutaratna sit in the central treasure tower, and the eight main bodhisattvas, including the Kannon Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra, who appear in the Lotus Sutra are drawn on the eight-leaf lotus flower that surrounds the central tower.

Printed on standard-size Shikishi paperboard, which originated over a thousand years ago in Heian Japan, and which is still used for traditional painting, writing, calligraphy, illustrations, autographs, waka/haiku poetry and more.
