This attractive set of Samue clothing is used by real Zen Buddhist Japanese monks at temples all over Japan. Made using the famous and traditional Shijira weaving method of the Enshu region in Japan, which consists of first dying the yarn before weaving, and twisting threads to created irregularities in the surface that allow air to pass through, keeping the wearer cool even on hot summer days. The delicate texture and deep colors of Shijira weaving combine to create this stylish Samue.
Although originally made for Zen Buddhist monks, samue clothing has become popular as regular, comfortable work clothing in Japan, and is no longer worn only or mostly by monks.
The 100% cotton fabric has a thin thickness meant for Spring and Summer Use.
