Founded in 1910, Sagaraden Nomura is proud to be the only workshop in Kyoto that produces Raden, a traditional Japanese lacquer, mother-of-pearl seashell inlay technique. We continue to produce special items every day, with our crafts-person philosophy committed to the pursuit of seashell luminosity and inlay delicacy. Ultra-thin layers of 0.1 mm or less are superimposed over and over in an elaborate process resulting in maximum durability and beauty that will endure for ages.
