Sold by a well-known traditional Buddhist crafts shop in Koyasan (a sacred mountain and World Heritage site in Japan), this bell is used in Japanese Buddhist rituals. It has a five-pronged handle that resembles a vajra, a symbol of power and wisdom in Buddhism. The bell produces a clear and resonant sound that is said to purify the air and calm the mind. It can be used for chanting, prayer, cleansing or warding off evil. The item is about 11 cm in height and 4.7 cm in diameter, weighs 120g, is made of brass, and comes with a string that allows for easy carrying or hanging.
