From Yamashiro, one of Kyoto’s leading suppliers of premium Uji-style teas, this gyokuro tea is grown by award-winning tea master Kyugoro Shimooka in Ujitawara, Kyoto Prefecture. Gyokuro is the highest grade of Japanese green tea, grown on special tea plantations and traditionally shaded with straw mats for the last 3-4 weeks before picking. This tea is best enjoyed in small sips, to allow the rich aroma, and gentle, subtle flavors to fill your palate.
